I saw this short film late at night on BS or some TV channel a while ago.
A man (the protagonist), completely drunk from drinking at a pub, stumbles out of the back door into a dark, cobblestone alleyway. The only light comes from the moon. In high spirits, the protagonist tries to light a cigarette.
A mugger approaches and starts harassing him, but another seemingly kind man chases the mugger away. The kind man asks, "Are you alright?" and starts patting down the protagonist's belongings to check if anything was stolen.
However, this "kind" man is also a mugger. He steals the protagonist's wallet, watch, and other valuables. To top it all off, he sneers, "There's no such thing as a kind person," and stabs the protagonist in the stomach with a knife.
The protagonist collapses to the ground. He somehow manages to prop up his upper body, leaning against a wall (or something similar). Too drunk to even call for help, he waits. Then, a garbage collector comes out of the pub's back door. The man looks at the protagonist, assumes he is just a drunk, and goes back inside the building.
Next, a young, beautiful woman comes running from down the alley, screaming. When she reaches the protagonist, she frantically explains why she was screaming. Her confession is: "I slept with a black guy and he came inside me. Not that it matters, but that guy is an HIV carrier and he told me, 'I hope you're looking forward to finding out if you're infected.'" After making this confession, she notices the protagonist has been stabbed. But she leaves him there and walks away.
I feel like there was one more person who interacted with the protagonist, but then comes the final character. The door right in front of where the protagonist is lying (I forget when he fell flat) opens, and a priest steps out. It turns out the door belongs to a church. The slightly chubby priest looks at the protagonist and realizes he has been stabbed. With that, he simply says: "The church is a place to save souls, not a place to save people." And with that, staring down at the ground, the protagonist loses consciousness.
That was the movie. The protagonist didn't speak a single word throughout. It left a huge impression on me and gave me a lot to think about. If anyone knows the title, please let me know. I want to watch it again.
