Dropping by a Ramen Shop

It was one of those days where nothing went right. At work, someone else's mistake got blamed on me and I got chewed out terribly by my boss. My usual diner was packed and they forgot my order. A client yelled at me for a totally unreasonable reason, and on top of all that, I was forced to do an absurd amount of unpaid overtime. By the time I finally left for home, it was past midnight.

I figured taking a different route home might help clear my head, so I decided to stop by an unfamiliar ramen shop along the way. While I was there, I happened to run into several of my old classmates from junior high.

We didn't have any crazy, high-energy conversations, but for someone living alone and feeling lonely, running into old friends like that unexpectedly really lifts your spirits. Thanks to them, I managed to pull myself out of my emotional slump.

"How many classmates were there at the ramen shop?"

"Now that I really think about it, there were actually quite a few people. Even some girls I completely forgot existed until then. It brought back a lot of memories."

"Got it. That was definitely a class reunion."

"Thanks. I'm going to die sometime this week."
