I have a strange friend. The walls of his room were completely covered with countless photographs of corpses, and every single available space—tables, chests of drawers, window frames, literally anywhere you could put something—was packed tightly with candles, leaving no gaps at all. He would walk around every day with his head tilted up, staring at the sky. He used to sneak into hospitals, go down to the morgue to look at the bodies, and sometimes even move them around. However, once you started talking to him, he was surprisingly normal, so we got along well. But one day, in a completely different place, I happened to meet someone who had been in his elementary school class, and I heard a bizarre story from the past. "Doesn't he suddenly start running?" I had no idea what he meant when he said that. When I asked him to explain, he told me: "Ah, I guess he doesn't do that anymore, huh? Back in elementary school, he had this habit of suddenly screaming and taking off running, completely disappearing. He wouldn't go home, and it turned into a massive, full-scale search once haha. He finally came back after three days." I thought to myself, *So he was that kind of hopeless weirdo*, but the story continued. "When the teacher got mad at him and demanded to know where he'd been, you know what he answered? He said, 'The sky' haha."
His former classmate kept going. "And you know what? We had this school event where we stayed overnight. Well, he was late for it—a whole full day late! He showed up at school the morning *after* the overnight trip had already ended, carrying his backpack! Haha." Everyone burst out laughing at the time, but apparently behind the scenes, it had caused a huge panic. "Apparently, he had actually left his house on the morning of the previous day, just like normal. But since he never showed up at school, both his parents and the teachers thought he might have gone missing and searched all over for him."
When I brought this up to him later, he looked me dead in the eye and said: "Please don't think I'm crazy. But I went to the sky. It might have been a dream, though. On the day of the school trip, I left my house in the morning just like always. I walked down the street as usual. But when I finally arrived, it was already the next day. Ever since I was a kid, my parents kept telling me there was something wrong with me." With that, he opened the window and said, "I'll show you proof," before letting out a whistle. "When I do this, I get a reply." Then, out of nowhere, I heard a sound like electronic beeps. It blended with his whistle, and the number of sounds kept increasing until they formed a massive, symphonic melody. That day was the last time I ever saw him. He had moved out of his apartment, and his family home was left completely vacant. And the neighbors all claimed that none of them had heard that grand symphony at all.
