I'm replying to a very old post, but I've actually died once before. Just saying that makes me sound crazy, so I'll explain the details.
It was when I was in the first grade of elementary school. Summer vacation had ended, and the second semester had begun. We had sports days and field trips, and I was living a normal everyday life.
However, on a certain day in December, the weather was terrible (I lived in Kagawa Prefecture at the time, where it rarely rains), and there was fierce thunder. Inbelievably, lightning struck my house. My older sister (who was 17 at the time) and I were inside together, and (presumably) died in the fire.
After that, my sister and I were in a pitch-black space, and I had no idea what was going on. But my sister said something that didn't make sense: "We died, so we're going to redo it, right?" I just answered, "Yeah."
Then, I woke up in my own bed. What's more, for some reason, I even realized at that moment that it was still summer vacation.
From then on, I lived through the second semester all over again. At first, I was in a daze and couldn't talk to anyone about it (I felt like I wasn't allowed to), and I just continued with my life.
By the time I reached the first year of middle school, I remembered that incident and gathered the courage to talk to my sister about it. When I did, she gave a half-smile and said, "Let's drop it already." I laughed along and said, "Yeah, you're right," and went back to normal.
There is no way this was a dream. Someone else posted earlier about dying in an earthquake, and their story is almost identical to mine. Reading that post just now brought tears to my eyes for some reason. Part of me was terrified that someone else had shared the same experience, but I also felt a sense of happiness and mystery...
