I've Seen the Ghost of a Doctor

You want to hear some terrifying, no-kidding horror stories?

When I was twenty, I had to be hospitalized, and that was when I saw the ghost of a doctor. It was such a strange experience.

About two months before I was admitted, one of the doctors in that department had passed away. He was a doctor I had actually seen for an examination while he was alive, so I knew what his face and build looked like.

I had been hospitalized because a bad cold triggered severe asthma symptoms. Late at night on my second day, a massive amount of phlegm clogged up my airways and I felt like I was suffocating. I tried to press the nurse call button, but apparently I knocked it off the bed, and when I groped around for it, it wasn't there. Since I happened to be in a private room, I couldn't call for help.

Thinking, *Ah, I'm suffocating, this is it—I'm done for*, a man in a white lab coat entered the room, seeming to phase right through the door. At the time, rather than being scared, my only reaction was, *Wait, what? How?*

When I looked closer, I realized it was the doctor who had treated me before, which brought me an overwhelming sense of relief. Without a word, he slid his hand behind my shoulder and turned me to the side. Then, he gently rubbed my back for a while.

Right after that, with a deep rattling sound, an enormous amount of phlegm came gushing out of me. The suffocating feeling smoothly faded away, and I fell fast asleep.

After that, I woke up to a nurse calling my name. She said she had checked on me because my room had triggered the call button, but nobody answered when she spoke into the intercom.

Incidentally, the call button was completely out of my reach. And my pillow was soaked with a massive amount of phlegm—so much that it normally would have been completely impossible to cough up without a medical suction machine.

Sorry it's not a scary story. But it was truly a bizarre and wondrous experience.
