Shisho Series: Other Shisho Series Self-Parodies
Untitled 1 *Please thoroughly explode. Summary: Shisho and Kyosuke-san fight through me. Why don't they just say it to each other's faces? It's a real nuisance for me.
Untitled 2 Summary: I think it started when Shisho told Kyosuke-san something like "you're such a giant woman." To that, Kyosuke-san calmly counterattacked, "Are you satisfied being shorter than a woman?"
Mahjong 2 Summary: "Shisho, Shisho." At my voice, Shisho flinches and sluggishly lifts his head. "Hmm? What about the daikon? Where was the daikon that was here?"
The Day I Became a Cat Summary: "You've got to... be kidding," I said to the cat right in front of me, brushing away the smoke that covered my vision.
CR Shisho Series Summary: CR Shisho Series. Normal probability: 1/399. Fever probability: 1/39.9. Fever entry rate: 80% (includes sudden-time and sudden-fever triggers. 100 turns of time-saver after every jackpot).
Mt. Fuji Summary: Walking down the road with Shisho, we passed a group of elementary school students. Were they walking home together in a group? Everyone has a school backpack on. I can hear them singing.
Valentine's Day, Just Explode Summary: The idiots who came up with Valentine's Day should just explode. Couples who give d*cks as Valentine's Day presents and go tee-hee and giggle with joy should just explode too.
Life Attitude Summary: "Life... attitude?" "Yeah." "Did he really say that? That guy."
Time Machine *You might think it's a parody, but it's scary... Summary: Well, it's been a long time since I ran out of parody material. Regardless, maybe something will come out if I just start writing.
Miss Shisho Series Summary: Uni: "Shisho. It's a parody." Shisho: "Again? How blunt." Uni: "This time, we received strict orders from the author to do it under the title 'Miss Shisho Series.'"
April Fool's Summary: Uni: "Yes. So, this is the-whatever-th installment of the self-parody series, featuring the bit 'Shisho Series Manga Adaptation Confirmed!'"
The Third Adult: Valentine Version Summary: This is a story that is supposed to have been heard from Shisho. "Kanako is going to give me chocolate, not give me, give me, not give me, give me, not give me, give me, give m—whoaahhh."
Exterminating Momo Summary: This is a story that is supposed to have been heard from Shisho. In the spring of my second year in university, a strange request came into Ogawa Investigation Office, a part-time detective agency that was halfway to becoming a jack-of-all-trades.
Works by the Same Author as the Shisho Series *Unlike the parodies, these are scary, so beware.
Room of Ghost Stories Summary: This is a pretty old story, but as far as my memory serves, it's a true story. When I was in elementary school, during a Cub Scout (one rank below Boy Scouts) camp, we went to stay for summer vacation at a minshuku-style lodge in the mountains run by a temple.
Chocolate Summary: While walking home from elementary school, making a fuss with my friends and waiting at a pedestrian crossing, one of them spotted a 100-yen coin visible between the concrete lids of a drainage ditch.
Dog Summary: A story scary for its complete lack of making sense. It was the height of summer, when I was in the sixth grade of elementary school. I had come to stay by myself in the countryside where my mother grew up.
Shadow Summary: I have a relatively high number of ghostly experiences (including pseudo-experiences), but among them, I often see "shadows."
Calico Cat Summary: Haven't you ever thought "Whoa" when a cat you keep stares intently at something humans can't see? The cat I kept when I was in elementary school was especially like that, often glaring fiercely at empty walls or ceilings.
Clouds Summary: I have an incomprehensible memory. When I was an elementary school student, I lived in an apartment complex, and during the season when the nearby rice fields were fallow, I often played there.
[Ghost Hunter Series] Facing Mirrors Summary: There is a man named U who, in a sense, led me down this path. It happened when we were holding a modest drinking party at his student boarding room, and he said, "Do you know what facing mirrors are?"
Left Hand Summary: When I was a child, the room I slept in seemed to be a spirit path—a transit route for spirits. Unpleasant things happened in that room many times.
Funerals Summary: Do you know about the cocktail party effect? In a noisy space like a party venue, how do you call out to someone from far away?
Photograph Summary: Later published as an expanded portion of the manga version of the Shisho Series, "The Somen Story." Summary: It was a sunny day. I found a park with plenty of tree shade and caught my breath.
[Ghost Hunter Series] Precognition Summary: I walked through the back alleys of a bustling district and descended to the basement floor of a dreary building with no sign. On the door it said...
[Ghost Hunter Series] Special Summary: What on earth is this? Summary: When I was little, I thought I was a special being. It's an arrogant thing to say, but it seems everyone goes through a phase like that.
[Ghost Hunter Series] Mermaid Summary: While staying in Cairns, Queensland, I heard about a day-trip scuba diving experience tour geared toward Japanese tourists, and I jumped at the chance.
Magic Square Summary: Ken-chan is weird. During the school kids' club, he's been reading a weird book the whole time.
[Ghost Hunter Series] Name of the Dead Summary: Right after entering university, there was a strange guy named U in my course cohort. It wasn't that his appearance was strange, but he would suddenly get angry or start running for no reason—anyway, he had a reputation for being an eccentric character...
Triangular Building Blocks Summary: This is thought to be the past of someone from the Shisho Series. Summary: My oldest memory is of playing alone in my home on the second floor of a town factory that smelled of iron and oil. Neither my father nor my mother is in the memory.
Talisman Summary: When I was at my parents' house, my room had terrible house creaks. Mostly snapping and clicking ghost sounds, but there were much more intense ones.
Remote Viewing Summary: Yoshida the photographer aimed the television camera at the subject with practiced hands. "Okay, rolling for shooting—"
[Ghost Hunter Series] Shelter from the Rain Summary: Who was it that I heard the story of the "Radio Ghost" from? It apparently haunts an abandoned house in the neighborhood. I laughed it off, but the catchy name strangely stuck in my ears.
Two Cups Summary: A sci-fi-like story. Summary: "Hnn—!" I leaned back in my chair and stretched. My work had finally settled down a bit.
The Upside-Down Woodcutter's Mask Summary: This is a story from before I was born, so I didn't witness it firsthand, and I must state in advance that to that extent, I am supplementing parts with my own imagination.
