An episode from the TV show "Tales of the Bizarre." A young man (played by Takuya Kimura), who moved to Tokyo for group employment after graduating from junior high, struggles to adjust due to his shy personality. Unable to hang out with coworkers, he spends his days simply going back and forth between the factory and his apartment. On payday, he buys a tape recorder. To soothe his loneliness, he repeatedly listens to his own recorded voice saying, "Welcome home" and "Good morning." One day, he decides to send a tape to his mother, making up a completely false report on how he is doing: "Tokyo is so much fun every day. I've made lots of friends..." The young man plays back the recording he just made. However, the content has turned into something completely different. "Mom, I want to go back home! I'm so lonely!" The young man dies of shock right on the spot. Later, the police are investigating the scene at the apartment of the young man who died under suspicious circumstances. Hearing the playback of the tape recorder left near the body—which says, "Tokyo is so much fun every day..."—the detectives lament, "Why did a young man with such a bright future have to die?"
