A story I read in a collection of mystery short stories. "Bi-ya" The protagonist is a cat living in an apartment with a young man. The young man calls the cat "Bi-ya," talks to it every day, and gently pets it, so the cat loves him very much. However, starting from a certain day, the young man's behavior changes. He still gives the cat food, but he stays completely silent and still, no longer petting it like he used to. The cat is a bit bothered and feels a little lonely, but continues to stay close to the young man just as before. In truth, the young man had passed away on the day his behavior changed. Even so, he came home every day and fed the cat. After this went on for a while, one day the cat goes out for a walk and is shot by someone with a crossbow. Barely managing to crawl back home, the cat lies on the floor, breathing its last, when the young man comes home. "Bi-ya." Hearing the young man's voice for the first time in a long while, and being gently petted, the cat breathes its last.
