During World War II, Alan Turing successfully cracked the Nazi Enigma code, leading the Allied forces to victory. However, his achievements were kept secret by the government, leaving him an unsung hero. After the war, Turing's homosexuality was discovered and he was arrested by the police. Given the choice between imprisonment or chemical castration via hormone treatment, Turing chose the treatment. He committed suicide a few years later. His achievements were never recognized during his lifetime.
