From the records of the SCP Foundation (a fictional collaborative writing site), an organization that collects occult phenomena, comes SCP-5966: "The Artist and the Patron."
The subject in containment is a single painter. Their body and mind have been modified by a "patron" so they can focus entirely on their art. Depending on their weekly "deliveries," they are given either rewards or punishments.
The painter finishes one painting a week, and the artwork vanishes the moment it is completed. All attempts to track it by planting small GPS devices have failed.
The painter's lips are fused shut and cannot open, and their vocal cords have been destroyed. Since written communication, gestures, and sign language are all ineffective, it is deduced that the painter's ability to communicate was stripped away by the "patron." Furthermore, the painter does not require food or sleep.
The rewards and punishments given to the painter reset every week. Examples of rewards: The mouth opens slightly to make breathing easier; a mouth and tongue form on the palm of the hand, allowing them to enjoy tastes, even though they cannot swallow. Examples of punishments: Eyeballs boiling; severe headaches, etc.
The following contract was discovered in the painter's apartment: The painter shall deliver one painting per week and receive compensation based on its quality. To ensure the painter can dedicate themselves entirely to their art, the patron shall spare no effort in providing all forms of support. The painter may terminate this contract at any time. Termination must be made orally or in writing by the painter directly; the intervention of a proxy is not permitted.
