A horror writer Joe Hill's novella "Loaded." A female employee shoots and kills her boss at a jewelry store in an American shopping mall due to a romantic dispute. A security guard, who is the textbook definition of an NRA member currently separated from his family for threatening them with a gun, rushes to the scene. However, mistaking a Muslim woman in the store for the culprit, he shoots and kills her along with the baby she is holding. He also shoots and kills the female employee, who had completely lost her will to commit a crime, when she startles from a noise, and then shoots the witnesses, framing the female employee for the massacre while he instantly becomes a hero. However, a female reporter notices inconsistencies in his testimony, begins investigating, and the truth is soon brought to light. From here, it gets brutal: the security guard shoots and kills the police chief and goes on the run. He forces his way into the home of his wife's sister—where his wife and son are staying—intending to flee the country with his son. But when he blasts the door lock open with a shotgun, he accidentally blows off the face of his son who was standing right on the other side. Blaming his wife for "making him stand in such a place," he shoots her too, and naturally, shoots the sister and her brother-in-law as well. Furthermore, believing that a newspaper reporter is to blame for all of this, he storms the newspaper office and massacres the staff. Finally, when the last remaining female reporter is hiding and trembling under a desk, holding her daughter whom she happened to bring along, the security guard towers over them and says, "Don't you wish you had a gun too?" And that's how it ends.
